Description

PRIMARY SHIFT:  Days 

APPROXIMATE HOURS PER TWO WEEK PAY PERIOD:  40 – Part time – Temporary (non-benefitted)  can expect to work Full time hours while training.

POSITION SUMMARY:  Arranges for the efficient and orderly scheduling for Inpatient and Outpatient testing or procedures.  This includes, but is not limited to, Observation, Emergency, Surgical Services, Outpatient Services, Lab and Imaging.

Ensures pre-authorization or pre-certification requirements are met.  Insurance eligibility & benefits will be verified and reviewed with the patient.  Provides estimate of charges to patients.  Collection of out of pocket patient estimate of costs.  Works with Patient Financial Services staff for financial assistance and insurance benefits.  Contacts all scheduled patients to obtain current demographic information.  Pre-register patients.  Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written.  Pleasant & courteous demeanor with good customer service skills.  Perform multitasks at the same time.  Strong organizational skills.  Strong typing skills. Medical knowledge.

Requirements

  • Experience in the Medical Field 2-3 years. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance, and workman's comp, or any 3rd party payers. Prefer billing and coding experience. Newport Hospital & Health Services (NHHS) is an equal opportunity employer.
