NHHS earns statewide award for rural hospitals
Washington State Hospital Association recognition honors commitment to quality and patient care
NEWPORT, Wash. — Newport Hospital and Health Services (NHHS) received silver-level recognition in the Washington State Hospital Association’s (WSHA) 2026 Critical Access Hospital Achievement of Excellence program, honoring rural hospitals for their commitment to quality improvement and outstanding patient care.
The award was presented during the 2026 WSHA Rural Hospital Leadership Conference, held June 28–July 1 in Chelan. The recognition is based on the hospital’s participation in the 2025 Medicaid Quality Incentive Program.
Each year, WSHA recognizes rural hospitals that demonstrate a strong commitment to measuring and improving quality across a range of patient care initiatives. Participating hospitals voluntarily submit performance data on quality measures that include sepsis management, workplace safety, diagnostic accuracy and efforts to reduce health disparities.
