Newport Health Center’s Express Care Clinic

Walk-in Hours: 

  • Monday through Friday:  7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (closed between 12-1 p.m. for lunch)

Newport Health Center is closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

No appointment is necessary.

Express Care walk-in visits are for urgent, but non-emergent medical concerns. Express Care is open to anyone, regardless of insurance or primary care location.

Appropriate Express Care Visits:

  • Asthma or allergies
  • Back pain, without sudden neurologic changes
  • Bronchitis
  • Earaches
  • Foreign object in ear or nose
  • Mild to moderate abdominal pain
  • Mild to moderate headache
  • Minor burns
  • Minor injuries
  • Moderate fever
  • Nausea/vomiting or persistent diarrhea
  • Rashes and skin conditions
  • Red/itchy eyes
  • Sinus symptoms
  • Sore throat
  • Sprains and strains
  • Urinary issues
  • Vaginal discharge and/or itching

Insurance:  Newport Health Center accepts a variety of insurance plans. Express Care patients without insurance and those with insurance plans not contracted with Newport Health Center will be charged upfront using a sliding fee scale.

For life-threatening (emergent) issues, including thoughts of self-harm, visit the closest emergency department or dial 911 for emergency medical response.  

Visit the Emergency Department for:

  • Any life-threatening medical issue
  • Bleeding that will not stop
  • Chest pain – heart attack symptoms
  • Choking
  • Coughing/vomiting blood
  • Deep or large wound
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Fainting or loss of consciousness
  • Foreign object in eye
  • Head or spine injury
  • Newborn with a fever (90 days or younger)
  • Overdose
  • Seizures
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Severe burns or smoke inhalation
  • Stroke symptoms
  • Sudden blurred vision
  • Sudden difficulty speaking or facial droop
  • Sudden paralysis of one side of the body
  • Sudden, severe headache
  • Swallowing a poisonous substance
  • Vaginal bleeding with pregnancy
  • Vehicle accident
  • Visibly broken/dislocated bones

Know when to seek mental health assistance.
