NHHS welcomes new providers
NEWPORT, Wash. — To help meet the growing healthcare needs of the Pend Oreille River Valley, three new providers have joined the team at Newport Hospital & Health Services.
Dr. Hannah Robbins was added to bolster the surgery team at Newport Community Hospital. Across the street at Newport Health Center, Mikaela Corigliano, PA-C, and Pam Skon, LICSW, are now seeing patients.
Dr. Robbins is a board-certified general surgeon who performs a wide variety of procedures, including surgical treatment of breast cancer, skin cancer, hernia, anorectal disease, endoscopy, and more. A Vancouver, Wash., native, she graduated with academic honors from the University of Washington School of Medicine. She moved to the area in 2022 with her husband and two children. She enjoys trail running, playing the drums, and teaching Sunday School to first-graders.
Corigliano is a familiar face at Newport Health Center. When she was completing her master’s degree through the University of Washington’s MEDEX program for physician assistants, she completed her family medicine rotation in Newport. The Deer Park native said she knew from a young age that she wanted to work in rural medicine, building long-term relationships with patients and families. Away from the clinic, you’ll likely find her with her dog, horse, or fishing with her family.
In Skon, NHHS is expanding its behavioral health services by adding a third licensed clinical social worker to the team. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Dakota. Her career has been spent serving rural communities, but in a variety of contexts. She has worked in schools, clinics, inpatient settings, and private practice. She has lived in North Idaho for the past six years.
