NEWPORT, WA – On January 30, 2025, during a regular meeting of the Pend Oreille County Public Hospital District #1 Board, the Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to appoint Kim Manus as the permanent Chief Executive Officer/Superintendent of Newport Hospital and Health Services. Kim has been serving as Interim CEO/CFO since August 2024.
In a statement to NHHS employees, Board Chair Lynnette Elswick said, “Kim started with Newport Hospital and Health Services in August of 1986. She served as the Business Office Manager/Treasurer and transitioned to Chief Financial Officer in 2001. Kim is a long time Pend Oreille County resident and understands the community’s needs, especially those related to healthcare. In her time with the District, she has seen exponential growth and looks forward to future opportunities for expansion. She will continue moving the work of the District’s strategic plan, focusing on service line expansion, facilities improvements, and community service that aligns with the District’s mission to serve our community with integrity and exceptional quality care.”
Elswick continued, “We are excited to begin the District’s next chapter with Kim at the helm. We are very fortunate to have someone with Kim’s expertise and experience. Her dedication to the District and staff is unsurpassed.”
Manus is married to former Pend Oreille County Commissioner Mike Manus and has three stepdaughters, 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She’s the proud new owner of River, an 11-week-old golden retriever. In her spare time, Manus enjoys golfing, huckleberry picking, and boating.
